Cakes from the Past

I haven't made a cake in over a week! Its a nice vacation... but I bought hubby and iPad for his birthday last week so I have been looking through his old pictures on it. I came across several cake pictures that I didn't have posted so I thought I would share!

Books and Basketballs

I had two "projects" last night which is unusual for me on a weeknight unless I am getting ready for an auction.

The first thing I made was a kindergarten graduation cake for a little boy. His father asked me to make something different but not babyish so I made a stack of books.

The second thing was cupcakes... inspired by the baseball cupcakes on Sunday, a friend asked me to make basketball cupcakes for his fiancee.

This Weekend

I was busy this weekend! I started with two cakes for a friend's daughters. They celebrate their birthday within the same month so Dad decided to allow them each to invite 4 friends for a hotel slumber party. I tied their favorite colors into cakes that featured the images of their friends too!
Saturday was cupcake day! The first batch was for a little girl and her friends celebrating at a garden party-- they planted seeds and made hats so I made flowerpot cupcakes with dirt and worms topped with sugar cookie "flowers"!
The second batch was for a little girl celebrating her fourth birthday at a local bookstore with a reading of the book Pinkalicious. Apparently, the little girl turns pink from eating too many pink cupcakes-- I hope this doesn't happen to my clients or I'll be out of business! I duplicated the cupcakes from the book.
The final cupcake event of the day was for a wedding shower. I used beautiful cupcake wrappers created by my fabulous scrapbooking friend Katie! The flavors were strawberry with cream cheese icing, red velvet with cream cheese icing, double chocolate with fudge buttercream icing, chocolate peanut butter, chocolate mocha and chocolate mint.
Sunday brought one last effort: a baseball themed party! I made a nearly-life-sized bat and baseball cupcakes.

Catch up...again!

I've made several cakes over the last few weeks... now I need to get them posted to share with all of you.
Pink and zebra... always a big hit!

Alli got a big award in school but her dad couldn't make it to the award ceremony... so we planned a special cake for her!

Ravin wanted the Jonas Brothers (who doesn't?) so we made this tie cake with photos of the Jonas Brothers in star frames around the cake.

My favorite over the last few weeks has to be the Rock Band cake for Lincoln's first birthday... when his dad first came to me with the design request, I wasn't sure I could pull it off but with some help from a lady at Signed Sealed Delivered with the topper, I pulled off a pretty good cake!
